Kardashian, 42, teased the Vanessa Beecroft-shot campaign on Instagram, sharing a video of the rapper sporting a ribbed, oatmeal-colored two-piece set from the newly refreshed collection.
In the teaser, Cardi speaks in hushed tones, prompting commenters to declare that she is entering her “soft girl era,” and compare her to Kardashian herself.
“Everybody’s wearing SKIMS,” she says softly in the clip. “Are you?”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper brought not only her signature curves but also her signature humor to the loungewear campaign with a SKIMS-unwrapping ASMR session.
In a video Kardashian shared on her Instagram Story, Cardi whispers into a microphone as she opens some SKIMS pieces.
“It comes in this plastic bag so you know nobody put their p—- on your product,” she jokes before unwrapping a pair of shorts, which she says she previously wore in a TikTok set to her song “Bongos.”
Cardi B models a cotton dress for SKIMS’ latest campaign.
The rapper has “always loved” the company’s Cotton Collection, per a release from the brand.
“It’s so sexy and makes me feel snatched yet comfortable while hanging out at home,” she said. “The new styles and colors I wore on set are even better, and I can’t wait to wear them all the time.”
Cardi is just the latest fashion icon to give the shapewear brand her stamp of approval.
Earlier this month, Kim Cattrall channeled her iconic Sex and the City character, Samantha Jones, for the “Best of SKIMS” campaign.
“How do I feel about SKIMS? Oh, you’d like to know, wouldn’t you?” Cattrall, 67, said before winking at the camera in one campaign video.
In Samantha-esque fashion, the actress also called the shapewear “freakin’ fabulous.”
For the October campaign, also shot by Beecroft, Cattrall was joined by a slew of other stars: Lana Condor, Nelly Furtado, Hari Neff and Coco Jones.
Earlier this year, SKIMS recruited rising stars Ice Spice, Nessa Barrett, Pinkpantheress and RAYE for a Gen Z-focused campaign.
“I’m excited to launch this next generation of SKIMS shapewear with a campaign that celebrates these incredible musical artists,” Kardashian said in a press release at the time, adding that the “super talented” women “truly reflect our SKIMS community.”
Since it was founded in 2019, the shapewear brand’s iconic campaigns have also recruited stars including SZA, Paris Jackson, Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra, Kourtney Kardashian, Megan Fox, Brooke Shields, Chelsea Handler and Juliette Lewis.
