With a big smile on her face, Gal Gadot appeared to be thoroughly enjoying herself as she settled into her seat and was pampered by a team of three professionals who were wearing face shields as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus. To ensure an extra layer of safety, the actress’s dressing room was located outdoors in the fresh air instead of inside a stuffy trailer. As she lip-synced, her hair and makeup team got to work, but they couldn’t resist busting a move when the famous chorus kicked in. Even while remaining seated, the super-heroine threw her hands up and danced along.

Although it cannot compare to the original Wonder Woman movie’s over $100 million opening, Warner Bros. still considers Wonder Woman 1984 a success, especially since only 35% of U.S. cinemas are currently open. The studio has even announced that they will fast-track a third film in the franchise, with Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins returning.
Wonder Woman 1984 was also released on the HBO Max streaming platform, but there is no word on how many people have watched it. According to Variety, most of the ticket sales in the U.S. came from private watch parties, where customers rented out screening rooms at cinema chains for around $100 each.

Wonder Woman 1984 has become a blockbuster hit during the pandemic, earning the title of the highest-grossing theatrical release. The superhero film premiered in movie theaters on Christmas Day and generated a revenue of $16.7 million at the North American box office over the weekend. When combined with its international takings, the movie has garnered a global total of $85 million as of Sunday. Wonder Woman 1984’s predecessor, released in 2017, set a record for the biggest opening by a female filmmaker and grossed $822 million worldwide. The sequel was originally projected to earn close to $1 billion in box office receipts before the pandemic but is now expected to make around $180 million, according to reports from Variety.

Although the opening generated by the 2020 Wonder Woman film is much lower than the original 2017 film, it is still considered a successful outcome. Warner Bros. has announced that they will be producing a third installment of the franchise with the return of both Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins.
