The sequel was originally projected to earn close to $1 billion in box office receipts before the pandemic but is now expected to make around $180 million, according to reports from Variety.

Although the opening generated by the 2020 Wonder Woman film is much lower than the original 2017 film, it is still considered a successful outcome. Warner Bros. has announced that they will be producing a third installment of the franchise with the return of both Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins.
