Heartwarming Nativity Surprise: Stray Dog Seeks Shelter, Gifts Birth to Seven Precious Puppies Amid Joyous Occasion
This stray dog, like Mary during the birth of Jesus, sought refuge in a stable full of straw to give birth, but this time to seven puppies.In Paleque, Mexico, a picturesque Christmas scene was displayed inside a small tent in the town’s main square. This has the typical array of festive figures posing in serene stillness, but recently someone unexpected joined in: a pregnant stray dog.
Apparently, the sweet dog considered the Christmas scene as a safe space and therefore used it as a refuge. She could take a break from the cold of the streets and provide lighting if necessary. Local journalist Eric Guzmán observed this and discovered her curled up in her straw.
Upon closer examination, Eric discovered that the dog had given birth to seven puppies. With no other options, the dog seemed to have chosen the Christmas birth as a safe and enjoyable place to give birth to her puppies.
“He was shocked and happy to find that his cubs were in a safe place,” Eric told The Dodo. “They were never wet or cold,” he continued. It is worth mentioning that although Paleque is normally warm all year round, it starts to get cold in December, and the presence of dogs seeking shelter is quite common.
Eric began spreading the news about the dog and her puppies in the manger, and since then, many Paleque residents have made the trip to see them for themselves, some carrying food and drink. Even local officials got involved and agreed that the dog family could stay as long as they needed.
