A homeless puppy was soaked in industrial glue by some children, causing his entire body’s fur to stiffen. His pitiful condition made the rescuers extremely sad, but the little dog’s subsequent resilient recovery was truly an unbelievable “miracle”.

In a state of fear and trembling , the small dog was only about 4 months old when he was brought to the He’Art of Rescue International animal shelter in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2017. Here, the dogs The rescuer named him Pascal.

Speaking to The Epoch Times , the charity’s founder, Rima Nur, said the first time she saw Pascal, he looked “like a statue.” Brave Pascal then endured difficult treatment to remove the adhesive from his body, and soon he began to regain hope.

Heartbreaking footage from the rescue organization shows Pascal crouched under a table at the veterinary clinic, barely able to stand with his limbs bound by dried glue. The veterinarian team shaved Pascal’s fur to reveal the original pink skin underneath the dried glue. This is just the beginning of the recovery process, the little dog has a long way to go ahead.

Pascal’s rescue team quickly realized that being soaked in glue wasn’t the only pain the little dog was suffering. He also tested positive for canine parvovirus, an infectious virus with an extremely high mortality rate if left untreated.

“[Pascal] fought parvo,” said Nur, who is also studying to become a medical doctor.

“Pascal not only had to battle the glue covering his body, but also the psychological trauma of everything that had happened to him. One of his ears was frozen with glue. So we don’t know if his ear will heal or will have to be amputated. Luckily, it healed.”

Over the next two months, until the summer of 2017, Pascal underwent treatment for parvovirus. The skin and psychological trauma have begun to heal, so the little dog’s fighting spirit has returned. As Pascal became stronger and stronger, his story quickly spread online.

“Everyone wants to follow him, wants to see what’s going on with him, it’s really a blessing,” Nur said.

Finally, Pascal was moved to a shared home with other dogs so he could integrate into society. The little homeless dog has now become a strong adult dog. And then Pascal received an interesting invitation.

Pascal, now “internet famous” for overcoming his impossible ordeal, was invited to appear on prime-time Spanish television as an advocate for animal rescue. Nur accepted the invitation on Pascal’s behalf. The dog and his guardians visited comedian and TV presenter Dani Rovira in Madrid, and Rovira declared that Pascal needed a permanent home.

“That night, our mail system was completely locked down,” Nur said. “There have been thousands of emails sent. It’s wonderful to know that the world cares, everyone cares about Pascal.”

Cute Pascal quickly found his forever home with a “wonderful family” in Valencia, Spain, where he can continue to thrive.

While pausing to celebrate Pascal’s incredible results, Nur lamented that his story is not unique. Cruelty to animals is common in Türkiye, she explains; But it seems like people are becoming more aware of animal rescue – and that’s a blessing.

Nur said she was alone when she started this charity, and she has been rescuing animals in her country ever since. Today, He’Art of Rescue International is registered in Amsterdam and has aid stations worldwide. While Nur is aware of the fact that they cannot help every animal in need, she implores others to remember that every effort counts.

“It’s always a battle toward the things you want to achieve,” she said. “All of us, each of us, acting according to our abilities, we can all do something better for this world.”

“We’re taking advantage of all [natural] resources, right? So we must respond with something; we have to protect the world, the animals and every living thing in this world – that’s what drives me.”
