In the case of Kale Chips, an 8-year-old Beagle, it was clear that a change needed to be made for his health and well-being.
Kale Chip was facing a serious health challenge due to his excessive weight, which was causing him significant discomfort and hindering his mobility. When he was discovered, the beagle weighed a staggering 88 pounds, far above the recommended weight for an adult Beagle which is usually around 22-23 pounds. Beagles are notorious for their food obsession and tendency to devour their meals quickly without proper chewing, leading to rapid weight gain in many cases.
Unfortunately, Kale’s former owner struggled with dementia and often forgot how much he had already fed the pooch, leading to excessive weight gain. Due to this, Kale eventually found his way to an animal shelter in the windy city of Chicago.
Community members who advocate for animal welfare were upset by Kale’s situation, and his story quickly gained widespread interest. Concerned volunteers were optimistic that they could improve his health and eventually find him a loving forever home.
There was a lot of worry on the internet about what would happen to Kale. But thanks to the support of animal enthusiasts from all over, Kale’s future started looking brighter. Before we knew it, Kale was happily settling into a new home with experienced owners who knew all about how to care for, feed, and train dogs.
Kale found his ideal family in the owners of the bakery, who quickly tailored a perfect diet for the Beagle.
With the help of a new diet plan, Kale Chips was able to shed the excess weight and get back to a healthy size. As a result, he started to notice some positive changes happening in his life.
In addition to his regular walks and swims, the combination of exercise and a healthy diet produced amazing results for Kale Chips. He shed the excess weight quickly, managing to slim down by half of his original body weight. Needless to say, he is thrilled with his new look! ⬇️
Due to his updated habits, Kale Chips now looks completely different from just a few months back. His compassionate foster family proves that proper nutrition and consistent exercise can help any dog reach their desired weight.
Currently, Kale embodies all the qualities that make a Beagle so special – he’s cheerful, active, and brimming with vitality.
