In her speech, the actress shared about growing up relying on food stamps as a child when her family struggled to make ends meet.

Johansson continued, “As a child growing up in New York, my family relied on food stamps, hot lunch programs, and government assistance to sustain our family of four. And as someone who has experienced food insecurity, I understand the cruel impact it can have.”

“The struggle to put food on the table can lead to extreme difficulties, desperation, and loss of hope. But organizations like God’s Love We Deliver provide a lifeline for those in need,” Johansson said. “They not only provide meals by connecting individuals to resources but also create a network of community support and advocate for long-term solutions to address systemic poverty issues.”

In addition to her charitable work, the Black Widow star also talked about raising her two-year-old son, Cosmo, whom she shares with Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost. “I think the ‘Terrible Twos’ are more like dealing with me!” Johansson joked with Entertainment Tonight about the challenges of parenting at that age. “Like, really dealing with me physically,” she added. The mother of two—who also shares a nine-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac—also shared her excitement about Jost, 41, returning to the SNL writers’ room after the writers’ strike last month. Johansson told ET, “They were practically desperate to get back to doing what they love. It’s definitely an adjustment in the family. That schedule is insane. But it’s so exciting to see them back at it. They’re fantastic, and we need them more than ever.” Other stars attending the awards ceremony included Matt Damon, Rupert Friend, Neil Patrick Harris, Nicky Hilton, Nicole Ari Parker, and Julianna Margulies.
