Have you ever wanted to take a nap at your desk or cubicle after a long, hard day at work? Or maybe you had a sleepless night before your new job and just couldn’t sleep because you were so nervous, and ended up feeling completely out of place on the first day?
That’s what happened to this little dog from Rhode Island. Brody, the Bristol Police Department’s new K-9 comfort dog, had a great day.
The 12-week-old dog woke up very early for his historic swearing-in ceremony, but the little one simply couldn’t keep his eyes up and ended up sleeping the entire time. (The video can be found in the footer of the article).
“He plays very hard and sleeps very hard,” Officer Keith Medeiros, Brody’s caretaker, told The Dodo: “When he’s not playing, he sleeps, which is a little difficult because he sleeps a lot.”
Yes, the little guy was so excited it was simply too much for him, and he zoned out at the desk, letting the officers finish the job.
So how exactly did Brody get his job? The police department was apparently considering adding a drug or bomb-sniffing dog to the team, but Mederios, the school resource officer, had a different idea. Instead, he chose a therapy dog.
The idea was well received by the entire team and Brody joined the company in mid-March 2020. Initially, the timing was concerning because Brody needed to be exposed to a typical work day when he was still new and the coronavirus outbreak have done. difficult things.
Brody, on the other hand, had arrived at the perfect time. According to Medeiros:
“People are extremely stressed, especially in law enforcement.” Just walking into the police station with Brody makes people smile and puts them in a better mood. They want to caress him, love him and it is a wonderful thing.”
Brody will visit schools and care homes as part of a new programme, as well as spending time building links with the local community.
He will also work with other officers to comfort crime victims. With such a vital and exciting job, it’s no surprise that this little guy needs as much sleep as he can get.
Little Brody may have fallen asleep during the ceremony, but he’s just conserving energy for all the vital work ahead of him.
