SITKA, Alaska — In a remarkable turn of events, an Alaskan family’s hopes were reignited when their old, blind  golden retriever, Lulu, who had been missing for three weeks, was miraculously discovered by a construction team. The heartwarming reunion took place after the crew initially mistook Lulu for a bear while she was nestled in a mulberry bush.

The Kubacki family had resigned themselves to the idea that they might never find their beloved Lulu after she wandered away from home on June 18. However, their despair turned to overwhelming joy when the construction team stumbled upon her unexpected hiding spot.

Despite being weak and barely alive, Lulu is now under the care of medical professionals who are diligently nursing her back to health. Soon, she will be able to return to the loving embrace of her family, bringing immeasurable happiness to her owners, Ted Kubacki and his five daughters, ranging from 4 to 13 years old.

Speaking about the significance of Lulu in their lives, Ted Kubacki expressed, “She means everything. I have five daughters, and they’ve spent their whole lives with that  dog.” The family’s tireless search efforts throughout the weeks Lulu was missing bear testament to the deep bond they share with their furry companion.

It is no small miracle that Lulu survived her ordeal, especially given her blindness. Ted Kubacki emphasized how vulnerable she must have been, unable to see and navigate her surroundings. The thought of Lulu’s helplessness during her time away from home was undoubtedly distressing for the family.
