In a guest appearance on ‘The Goop Podcast,’ Scarlett Johansson reveals she won’t return to Marvel for the ‘Black Widow’ role.

During ‘The Goop Podcast,’ when asked about her future plans with superhero roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Scarlett Johansson stated that she won’t be returning to Marvel for the ‘Black Widow’ role. ‘I’ve completed it. My chapter is done. I’ve done all the things I needed to do, including coming back and playing my character over and over again. It’s been over a decade; it’s truly been a unique experience,’ the actress shared.

When Disney eventually released ‘Black Widow,’ it premiered both in theaters and on the streaming platform simultaneously, leading to lower box office revenue and impacting the actress’s earnings.

Later, in July 2021, Scarlett Johansson sued Disney, asserting that her contract with Marvel and Disney ensured the exclusive theatrical release of ‘Black Widow’ and that a significant portion of her salary was contingent on the film’s success at the box office. However, she later withdrew the lawsuit after resolving the dispute with the studio.
