The rapper tries the new shade of Duck Plump lip gloss in the brand’s inaugural Super Bowl commercial

𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊 𝑩 is ready to steal the 2024 Super Bowl spotlight.

The “Bongos” rapper, 31, is set to star in a new game-day commercial for NYX Professional Makeup, which marks her first beauty partnership.

“NYX is a brand that I’ve used since high school and that’s why it’s so special to partner with them for this campaign,” the Bronx native shared in a press release. “NYX has always made the best, affordable products, and that’s why I still use them today. We had a lot of fun making this over-the-top, hilarious commercial and I can’t wait for everyone to see.”

The makeup brand released a teaser on Thursday ahead of the ad’s big premiere on Feb. 11.

In the 15-second clip, the Grammy winner holds a tube of the brand’s Duck Plump gloss and looks at it dubiously.

“NYX Duck Plump? That’s suspicious. That’s weird. Freaky,” she says as the camera zooms in on her face with each word. The line is in reference to an audio of hers that went viral on TikTok.

𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊 𝑩 applies the gloss to her lips (the perfect finishing touch to her pink glam), before the video cuts out with the artist’s famous laugh.

According to a press release, the full 30-second commercial “aims to flip the script on male stereotypes” with a powerful cast of women led by 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊 𝑩 and a humorous take on the “plumping sensation” of the lip product.

Duck Plump’s new vibrant red shade, “Cherry Spice” (which launched on Feb.1 exclusively on nyxcosmetics.com and at ULTA Beauty) will take front and center in Cardi’s fabulous football glam.

Fans can root for 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊 𝑩 and NYX through digital, social and real-life interactions including tailgates held at select ULTA stores across the U.S. They can also expect more surprises across NYX’s social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), making it touchdown collaboration.

The Super Bowl will take place at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and will see the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers compete for the silver prize. Usher will headline the halftime show, which marks his second appearance on the iconic stage since his performance with the Black Eyed Peas back in 2011.

This year’s game will bring out all the stars to the desert, from the record-breaking football players to their gorgeous wives and girlfriends and a slew of other stars ready to party in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
